FCKEDIT, Rat Depot and the Eternal Worm Devouring Connecticut
The one where Paulie changes gears again.
There is absolutely no reason for you to still be invested in the lore of what I am doing. Fckedit hit peaks and troughs (mostly troughs) which coincided with big events in my life and was never a consistent project. Most of you have never met me and have now been mystically ported to Substack, a place that makes more or less the same linguistic sense as a platform called “MailChimp”. The chimp delivers the mail, ok we can accept that premise but are the subs stacking? It remains to be seen.
Since I graduated university I’ve been looking for a way to consistently write and connect with people. I wrote for film blogs run by cunts, film blogs run by non-cunty entities, my own blog(s), designed and maintained a website that reset every 24 hours and finally, a newsletter that I really like, that you never get to read. The time has come, sexy little people that live in my screen, to take a stand. Against myself, the brutal, icy winds of time and against the chimp.
So here lies Fckedit.
What’s next? All the things you (hopefully) enjoyed about Fckedit and more.
I’m proud to announce, the Rat Depot manifesto:
Rat Depot will introduce you to things that I enjoy and things I have learned about
Rat Depot will be multifaceted and dynamic, incorporating podcasts, events and rewards, in time.
Rat Depot will provide smaller writers and creators like me a platform to grow on.
Rat Depot will nurture a community of creators who will celebrate each other.
Rat Depot will not die.
If you’ve had enough of my Gemini bullshit, this is your moment to walk away from the depot with no hard feelings. For the rest of you, I’ll see you real soon. Like real soon. Like later on tonight.
Love,
Paulie.
